Will Guild Wars Stuff Depreciate as new skins of Factions comes out?

I have a Perfect Chaos Axe. I don't know whether to hold on to it in hopes of it appreciating or sell it right now so it doesn't depriate in value.

Also does anyone have a list regarding the prices of some of the stuff in factions?

I gotta think that yes, there will be depreciation. I've already sensed stagnation in the market and lack of interest in chaos axes. I think that even crystallines will be of little interest immediately after the release of factions. However, once the breadth of items, and the frequency of drops is established (a few weeks to months after Factions release), I think Prophecies items will have value again. I don't think that they will be worth as much as now, or in the past, but I think the rare prophecies items will indeed hold at least some value in Factions. I mean, keep in mind that there will be newcomers to the game who will never have had a chaos axe before.... who knows, maybe even firey dragon swords will make a comeback

You can bet that all of the "cool" new items will start out high, and go down gradually. Prophecies' users will probably not see a significant change in most items, but some, i.e. the Victo's Bulwark, may depreciate if another variant becomes available.

I just wonder what the new 'rare' skins will be. I have a feeling the Crystalline Sword and Dwarven Axe will be getting some new siblings.

Buy the expensive greens that are now super cheap. Sucks I can't buy a second bulwark for the price still stays around 80 k+, I can, but waiting for my goal of hitting 1 million mark .

Well...the ecto market has been in steady decline, though it's leveled off at about 6.5K for about a month.

Something tells me however that FoW armors will be added for the Assassin and the Ritualist, so maybe not all hope is lost for ectos.

But won't the ecto still remain second hand currency thus insuring its value? Since a player can't carry more than 100k gold.

Ecto market says it all. They used to be around 13k, if I recall correctly.

It's also important to remember that while items will depreciate for those people WHO HAVE FACTIONS, people who still JUST have prophecies will likely have demand for them. Therefore, the item's VALUE may not depreciate significantly, more the demand factor of supply and demand. This would drive the prices down, but I think not TOO significantly.

considering that 80% of GW players are getting factions...... i smell ecto maket being replaced by some other material (or black dye?), and even those who dont have factions will be buying weps and other junk from those who have 2 accounts linked so imagine the prices!!! even ecto will remain a second trade, those who will farm factions will most likely want pure gold cuz ectos might be useless.... and who knows, maby there will be some very high end collectos with more then perfect new weps?

People want the latest and greatest and the "coolest." All the Factions stuff will be the latest Anet has to offer and most people will want that. I think we'll see Prophecies prices drop considerably and Factions stuff will be outrageous. Prices should stabilize, but I don't think we'll see Prophecies items at the prices they have been in the past. Gaile has also said that there most likely won't be any more additions to Prophecies, so don't expect to see any new Greens or another "IDS."
